1confirmation Newsletter - Issue #102
2023 has been an interesting year for the crypto industry. BTC is up over 100% and ETH is up over 45% but the general public is not paying attention anywhere close to the level they were in the last bull market. The Sam Bankman-Fried trial is getting more public attention than anything else going on in the space, DeFi and NFTs are largely out of favor and we’re still waiting on the next mainstream use cases to emerge. But those paying close attention know there’s a lot beyond the price of BTC and ETH to be excited about. Builders are building useful products that crypto natives are actively using and it feels like we’re not far from seeing breakout new use cases in decentralized social networking, information markets, stablecoins and DAOs (among others) emerge.
Our founder Nick recently went on 20VC with Harry Stebbings to discuss the latest in the crypto space and venture capital broadly, the origins of 1confirmation and a wide range of other topics such as the importance of parents, Renè Girard and NFTs. Check it out here:
