Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin shares the core values of Casper, the proof of stake design framework that Ethereum plans to shift to in 2017. Ethereum is currently secured by a proof of work system (similar to Bitcoin), but plans to shift to proof of stake in the near future. This is an important development worth paying close attention to this year.
